All of our childcare providers are highly experienced in the childcare field, each having a CPR and First Aid Certification, a completed interview, a check in with their personal and childcare references, as well as a thorough background check.

Micheala

Hi everyone! I’m Micheala, I am currently 22 years old, a recent graduate of Curry College outside Boston with a bachelor’s in Public Health and Biology. I will be heading to nursing school in August so I am looking forward to a relaxing island summer! This will be my third summer with BIB and I am looking forward to another awesome season! I have spent my summers on Block Island since I was a baby and it is truly my second home. I love being outside and taking advantage of everything the island has to offer which pairs well with my love for children. As a health student, I am CPR and First Aid certified and I am also highly educated in both the safety and health of children. I have been babysitting since about 12 years old, as well as holding full time nanny positions. Plus having my drivers license and a car on the island makes getting around a breeze. I look forward to meeting you and the kiddos and hopefully seeing some of the awesome families I was fortunate enough to meet in past years!

Mia

Hey everyone! My name is Mia, I am 20 years old and I am currently studying Photography & Business Management/Entrepreneurship at the Savannah College of Art & Design. I am a Dean’s List student. I grew up in East Hampton, NY however I have been spending my summers on Block Island since I was an infant. I enjoy spending time outside, going to the beach, and I love driving around the island, seeing and exploring everything the island has to offer. I have been babysitting for 8 years and I have loved it from the start. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I am CPR and First Aid Certified and I have my drivers license, therefore, I have the ability to take your children to the beach, park, or animal farm. I am looking forward to meeting you and your children, and hopefully I will be able to visit with some of the families I met last year!

Addie

Hi, there, I’m Addie. I’m 23 years old and I’m a teacher in a integrated/collaborative preschool for typically developing kiddos and kids with developmental disabilities, mainly autism, in Denver, Colorado. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University, class of 2016. I have been coming to Block Island since I was a small child and started spending summers on the island around 10 years ago. Going to the beach, catch-and-release-fishing, exploring, and looking for orbs are some of my favorite activities to do on Block Island. I’ve been babysitting for over 12 years and have experience working with kiddos of all ages, from newborns to 12 year olds. I’m CPR/First Aid and Shaken Baby certified and I love working with typically developing kids as well as kiddos with needs. As this is my second summer with Block Island Babysitters, I hope to see some familiar faces again, and I look forward to meeting new families too!

Kate

Hi! My name is Kate. I am 20 years old and enrolled in a dual degree program at Springfield College. I am currently studying for my Bachelors in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, as well as my Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling. I have extensive experience caring for children of all abilities. Aside from babysitting, I have spent the past few years working for Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang camp providing around the clock care for children who have serious or chronic illnesses. I also am a swim coach and find great joy in creating an environment of safety, love, and respect for my athletes. I am comfortable working with any age and any number of children. I have plentiful experience with birth to eighteen years old and individuals with disabilities. I will have my car with me this summer which makes Greenway trail walking, visiting the animal farm, and beach trips much simpler. I was a college swimmer and I have been an active lifeguard for six years. I am also CPR and First Aid certified. I am a very active person, avid animal lover, and I enjoy taking advantage of all this beautiful island has to offer. I believe that is important to invite children to step outside of their comfort zone and challenge themselves in a safe, supportive environment. I love to watch how they discover they are capable of so much more than they imagined. Fun, friendship, and laughter is what I am hoping to provide for your children. I am excited to meet you and be a part of your summer on the Island!

Sibley

My name is Sibley, and I’m an incoming sophomore at the University of Southern California! I’m from Lincoln, MA, and I have been been summering on Block Island for my entire life. This is my third summer working with BIB! I have three sisters, and I have a lot of experience with kids from babysitting, ski coaching, and tutoring. I’m CPR and First Aid certified and I am a registered SSAT and ISEE tutor. I have a car, so I can drive your kids to places like the farmers market, the beach, and the animal farm! I love music, exploring the Greenway trails, going to the park, painting, and having fun! I’m here to keep your children happy and healthy!

Jasmine

Hello everyone! My name is Jasmine. I am 21 years old and I am currently studying Physical Education and Health Education with a minor in Athletic Coaching at Springfield College. I will be graduating in May of this year and returning in the fall to pursue my master’s in Athletic Administration and Physical Education. Although I have just started to come out to the island, I have great friends that live on the island who have showed me around and have helped me get to know it better. Last summer I was a lifeguard at the state beach on Block Island. I have renewed my lifeguard, CPR, first aid, AED, and blood pathogens certifications, so they are all up to date. This year, I also decided to get my license in becoming a lifeguard instructor, as well as a group fitness instructor. I have an unlimited, boundless love for sports and children which have helped me pick my future career and summer jobs. From teaching in the classroom and babysitting back at home, I have worked with children of all ages and of all abilities. I have worked with multiple students with special needs and have had some of the best times of my life doing so. Back home in New York I worked with children ages 4-17 as a camp counselor, basketball coach, and lifeguard. I love music, sports, ice cream, going on adventures! I am dependable, compassionate, responsible, and respectful. I would love to be your babysitter and have the chance to make everlasting memories with your children.

Nancy

Ciao! My name is Nancy. I am 21 years old, and I am a rising Senior double majoring in Business and Global Studies with a minor in Italian at St. Lawrence University. I have been babysitting since the age of 13, I nannied last summer on Block Island, in addition to nannying prior in my hometown in Massachusetts. This is my third summer babysitting with Block Island Babysitters! I am CPR certified, and I have had a lot of experience in childcare. I'm available for date nights, last minute babysitting, pet sitting/walking, and more. I'd love to help you out! I know the island very well. I have been going to Block Island since I was an infant visiting my grandparents, cousins, uncles, and aunts that live on the island year round. I live a very active lifestyle. I run cross country and track at the collegiate level, so I am always excited to partake in productive activities with children and pets. I love working with children. I have done a lot of volunteer work centered around teaching disabled children how to read and play sports. I also mentored middle school students when I was in, and I frequently volunteered at the local elementary school’s to be students learning buddy in Canton, New York. I am confident in my childcare capabilities, and I would love the opportunity to be your babysitter!

Hi everyone! My name is Kelly, I am 17 years old and I am a Junior in High School and, in Essex Connecticut. I have been visiting the island my whole life and started spending the summers 9 years ago. I really enjoy being near the water, I do crew during the school year and spend a lot of time on the beach. I love kids of all ages and I have been babysitting for 3 years. I have my CPR and First Aid certification along with my drivers license. I would love to bring your kids to the beach, park, zoo, or anywhere else they would like to go. I look forward to meeting your family!

Hi parents! My name is Marina, I am 17 years old and from Ole Lyme, CT. I will be entering my junior year in high school in the fall. I’ve been summering on Block Island my entire life and living on my families boat. I’ve never once missed the 4th of July parade! I love kids, animals and anything involving water. I am currently taking college-level drawing classes and volunteering as a teachers assistant. I would love to do arts and crafts with your children and play games. I also enjoy walking the Greenway trails and beaches on the island. I have experience with toddlers and older and I am CPR & First Aid Certified. I’m looking forward to meeting your family!

Grace

Hi, I'm Grace. This is my third year working with Block Island Babysitters. I have spent all my summers on Block Island and my family has had a home there since 1965. This fall I will begin my freshmen year at Endicott College in their Elementary Education licensure program. I have completed multiple Child Development courses and I am Red Cross CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified. My family and I have a boat docked in the Great Salt Pond, so I am trained in water safety and I am a confident swimmer and avid paddle-boarder. I have been taking lessons and playing tennis since I was 5 years old, and have been an assistant coach for the juniors at my racquet club. I would love to play and coach on the local courts with your children if they are interested. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures. I especially enjoy to do arts and crafts, read books, play games, and spend time outdoors. I have a car so we can explore the BIMI Touch Tank, the Animal Farm, the playgrounds, Farmers' Markets or go beachcombing. I look forward to taking care of your children while you enjoy our beautiful island!

Hi, I’m Allie. I’ve been summering on Block Island from a young age. I am an incoming junior at Moses Brown in Providence RI. I’ve been babysitting for family and friends since I was 14. I love crafts, reading, and being outdoors. I’ve been on the cross county and squash team all throughout high school. I plan on pursuing a career in childcare education. I’m very flexible with hours, I am CPR and First Aid Certified, I love pets, I’m a night owl for those who need late nights and I know the island very well. I’d love to babysit your children and I look forward to meeting you!

Hi, my name is Emma. I am a 17 year old rising senior at the Woodward School in Quincy, Massachusetts. I have two younger brothers; ages seven and eight who I constantly help watch and care for. I love spending time with kids and last summer, I was a counselor in training at the Blue Hills Camp as well as a volunteer at the Boston Center for Youth and Families. I am CPR and First-Aid certified. On the island, I love spending time swimming at Mansion Beach or hiking on nature trails. I also love going to the farmer’s market to buy scones and lemonade. This is my first summer with Block Island Babysitters and I look forward to the new experience! I love to work with all age groups with all different abilities and I have flexible night hours as well. I can’t wait to get to know your kids and have fun!

Hi! My name is Jess. I’ve been frequenting Block Island from a very young age. I’m 21 years old and I will be entering my fourth year as an athletic training student at Springfield College. I have spent the last few years working as a camp counselor and boating director for children ages 5-12 at Camp Massasoit in Springfield, MA. I have babysitting, coaching, and tutoring experience with children of all ages. I have been an active EMR (basic life support, emergency oxygen, EPI/inhaler, etc.) for 3 years now and am lifeguard certified as well. I love spending time in the outdoors, going to the beach/exploring, or really anything fun. I love being around kiddos and every square foot of this beautiful Island. I look forward to meeting your family!

Maeve

Hi, i’m Maeve!  I am from Harvard, Massachusetts. I am 17 years old and I am an incoming senior in high school attending Lexington Christian Academy. I am a EIL/NEPSTA cross country all star and I am also a varsity lacrosse player. I have been visiting Block Island since I was an infant. I finally became a full-time summer resident in 2015. I am very active and I prefer the outdoors. I enjoy beach walks, swimming, hiking, searching for glass orbs, fishing, biking, and any type of sport. I would love to take your children on outings such as, the animal farm or playground.  I am Red Cross certified in CPR and First-aid. I am experienced with caring for children ages 3+. I have helped run the Vacation Bible School on Block Island and in the past I have volunteered at Camp Mohegan. I currently volunteer at my church working with children ages 2-7. I look forward to meeting you and your children on Block Island this summer!

Shea

Hi I’m Shea! I am an incoming Junior in High School at Lexington Christian Academy in Harvard, Massachusetts. During the school year I play three varsity sports: Soccer, basketball, and softball. I am in the school choir and I am very creative and enjoy doing art. I have been enjoying Block Island since I was an infant and I became a full time summer resident in 2015. My favorite places to go to on BI are the beaches and by far the animal farm. I also love nature walks and orb hunting all across the island! I am Red Cross certified in CPR, first aid, and babysitting. I have volunteered multiple times in my church day care with ages ranging from 2-5 years old. I have also helped lead the Vacation Bible School on Block Island with my family for several years. I come from a big family and have developed a love for all children. I can’t wait to meet you and your children!

Ella

Hi! My name is Ella and I will be a freshman at Kenyon College this fall. I am from Darien, CT and have been coming to Block Island since I was a baby.  My family has a house on the island and I spend many weeks on BI every year. I know my way around the island quite well. I’ve played both soccer and lacrosse for as long as I can remember (and I play lacrosse at Kenyon), so I am very active and energetic. I am also CPR and First Aid certified. I have three younger brothers and many younger cousins which has given me a lot of experience with children. I have access to a car on the island, which means I will be able to drive the kids to different destinations on the island (beach, animal farm, arcade, ice cream shop, etc.) if permitted. I am also able to tutor kids if needed! I am excited to meet you and help make your summer on Block Island as enjoyable as possible!

Kibbalee

Good day everyone,  My name is Kibbalee. I have completed my degree in Language Communications and Society at The University of the West Indies Mona. I am a 23 year old English and Patios tutor at the Peace Corps in Jamaica. I have a very soft spot for children and enjoy communicating and hanging out with kids. I have been babysitting my entire life seeing that I am an older sister for three girls. I have worked in Kindergarten and preschools to facilitate children’s learning and have also done many babysitting jobs to help with my tuition. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I also have a driver's license which makes moving around effective. I look forward to meeting you and your kids!

Hi my name is Brian and I am 19 years old. I am from Bristol Connecticut and I am a  lifeguard here on Block Island. I am currently studying to be a Respiratory Therapist in Manchester Connecticut. I am also an EMT in the State of Connecticut and the State of Rhode Island and I am soon joining the Block Island Volunteer Rescue Squad. Coming out to the island for me has always been a great time and enjoyable. I have been babysitting my cousins for several years now and have gained experience as an EMT in caring for kids. Hi! I'm Natalie. I'm 20 and live in New Jersey, but have been coming to Block Island every summer since I was born! I attend Providence College and study Health Policy and Management. I have been babysitting since I was 12 and have lots of experience with children of all ages. I also have a lot of experience pet-sitting! I absolutely love taking care of kids and animals and am Red Cross certified for babysitting, First Aid, and CPR. I have a license and access to a car, so I can easily take your kids out to have fun at the beach and other places on the Island! Victoria

i! My name is Victoria, and I'm from Stonington, CT. I graduated from Georgetown University last May. While there, I majored in History and minored in Film & Media Studies. I also took an extensive amount of Mandarin and studied abroad in Shanghai. This summer, I will be waitressing on the island, as I apply for jobs come the fall. Even though this will be my first summer living out on the island, I have spent a lot of time here visiting friends and exploring. I have been babysitting since I was a sophomore in high school, and I have extensive experience with ages 3-14. In addition, I have also worked with large groups of kids at a few summer camps and tennis clinics. I love taking care of kids, and the island offers us so many fun things to do. Tori

Hi! My name is Tori, I am 20 years old and I am going to be a junior at Connecticut College. I am a behavioral neuroscience major, philosophy minor with a specific focus in public health and I play on the women’s soccer team. I spend my summers at my beach house in Niantic, CT and come out to Block Island for various weeks. My family and I absolutely love the island and have been coming out here since I was a baby. My favorite spots are the Oar, specifically because of corn hole and Paynes, because of the ring toss. You can tell that I love playing outdoor games! I also enjoy going to the beach, boating, fishing, crabbing, and hiking. Looking for orbs on the greenway trails and beaches is another one of my favorite activities on the island. Other than that, I have been a camp counselor for the past two summers at Connecticut College Soccer Camps where I coach 4-7 year olds and share my love for soccer while encouraging children to stay active. I am also trained as a CNA, certified nurse assistant, and have my CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Overall, I enjoy hanging out with kids and I look forward to helping families in any way I can!

Hey there! My name is Allie and I am a rising junior at Glastonbury High School in Connecticut. I live in Niantic, CT in the summer with my family and my three dogs. Since I was a baby, we have been frequently going out to Block Island during the summer so I know my way around the island very well. You can find me picking up trash off the beaches, crafting, coloring, or crabbing on the docks at the oar. I also enjoy orb hunting, going to the beach, bike riding, and going to the animal farm. I am very passionate about protecting animals and the environment. With regards to childcare, I have a lot of experience with children three and above. In addition, I recently became Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid and AED certified. I love exploring the island and working with kids and I am so excited to share my love of beautiful Block Island with your children!!

Hi! My name is Sofia and I am a rising Sophomore at Syracuse University earning my BA in Citizenship and Civic Engagement as well as Policy Studies with a minor in Vocal Performance. For the past 6 years or so, I have worked at Mountain Lakes Day Camp in North Salem, New York as a counselor for children of all ages. Along with that, I spent my time in high school babysitting kids from camp and around town. I have extensive experience babysitting infants and children of all ages. At school, I’m in the honors program, a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Women’s Fraternity, the Promotion’s Manager of the SU Men’s Ice Hockey Team, and volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club and the Vera House. I love to sing, and my talkative, bubbly personality is well-known among my peers. I can’t wait to meet you all!

Ruxandra

Hello there! I’m Ruxandra, from Romania. I’m 25 years old and I’m studying for my Masters in Clinical and Community Nutrition at the University of Pharmacy and Medicine Targu Mures.
I am passionate about photography, psychology, travelling, activities with the children, books.
I have a brother younger 3 years than me that I would take care of and play with when we were children. I would also care for our cousins. I have experience working with children through a volunteering summer camp organized the Livada Orphans Care when I was the leader of a 7-10 group of children of 4-18 years. We played together, engaged in activities such competitions with others, and really had a good summer together. I also was a international volunteer teacher in the Czech Republic where I taught classes about my culture and I enjoyed my time with the pupils and students.
I’m a detail orriented person, reliable and empathetic. I like to make the people around feeling good and happy.
This is my second summer on Block Island so I’m familiar with it and what it has to offer. Thank you for your time and I am looking forward to taking care and playing with your children.

Wianda

Hello there! I am originally from South Africa, but I am on currently living on Block Island for the summer and I am loving it here! I have had a passion for children my entire life, I always wanted to be the babysitter for every family member/friend’s little ones. I have a true connection with children and they always seem to be very comfortable with me. I have experience in taking care of children of all ages. I do have experience in taking care of disabled children as well, I have taken care of an individual with a severe case of Williams Syndrome, I believe that these special children deserve nothing but the best as do all children. I also am trained and certified in CPR and First Aid. I am a very patient, calm, friendly as well as strict individual. I am very comfortable with handling difficult situations. My hobbies include singing, beauty, child-care and animals. I am someone who goes out of my way to make others happy and I would be honored to take care of your little one!

Hi! My name is Danielle and I’m living on Block Island this summer and working primarily as a lifeguard at the town beach. I am CPR and First Aid certified! I’m 18 years old and I just finished up my freshman year at North Carolina State University studying bioprocessing science where I was involved in the University Scholar’s Program, the nutrition club and am a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. Throughout high school I was heavily involved in sports and am a very active person. In my free time you can usually find me exercising, running, hiking or doing any sort of outdoor activity. I also participated in the REACH mentor program for children facing difficulties at home, school or in their personal life and the Best Buddies organization to help integrate children with special needs into the high school environment. I’ve been babysitting for about five years and have held multiple long term positions with many families!

Hi all, I’m Kimmy! I’m an incoming junior at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High school. I’m a two season varsity athlete who loves contributing hours to youth athletes looking to improve in sports. I’m First Aid and CPR certified: I have helped kids from Adaptive skating lessons to babysitting them at the beach. I have been coming out to Block Island ever since I was a baby and love every aspect about it. I love spending my summer outdoors by keeping myself active with swimming, sailing, and biking.
